Trump Proposes $90 Aid for Medicare Part B Seniors

by admin477351

In a move aimed at alleviating healthcare costs for seniors, President Donald Trump has announced a one-time $90 payment for over 20 million Medicare beneficiaries. This payment is intended to help cover premiums for those enrolled in Medicare Part B, which services include doctor visits and laboratory tests.

The funds, expected to be distributed in October via direct deposit or check, will be sourced from the Medicare Improvement Fund. This fund was originally set up to facilitate enhancements in Medicare operations and payments to healthcare providers.

Eligibility for the payment is limited to Medicare Part B beneficiaries residing in the United States. However, those receiving premium assistance through Medicaid or paying income-adjusted premiums, as well as individuals enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans, will not qualify for this one-time payment.

This announcement comes as part of President Trump’s ongoing efforts to address healthcare and affordability issues, coinciding with the approach of the November 3 midterm elections. By focusing on measures that target healthcare costs, the administration aims to resonate with senior voters concerned about medical expenses.
