AK-203, T-90, BrahMos: Russia Touts “Shared Achievements” in India

by admin477351

Russia’s Ambassador, Denis Alipov, has praised the success of its “Make in India” collaborations, listing a series of “shared achievements.” He cited the BrahMos missile, Su-30 MKI jets, T-90 main battle tanks, and AK-203 rifles as prime examples.

Alipov stated that these achievements, born from a 60-year partnership, “will continue to expand.” This celebration of existing JVs was a prelude to a new, more ambitious defense offer.

He announced that Russia is ready to “move confidently toward local production of the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter,” as well as drones and advanced radar systems.

This emphasis on joint production and “full technology-sharing” comes as a counter to US pressure. The US has imposed 50% tariffs on India, partly over its oil trade with Russia.

By highlighting the tangible benefits of this collaboration, Russia is contrasting its partnership model with US economic penalties, even as both nations vie for influence in New Delhi.
