The US State Department has approved potential arms sales totaling $2.27 billion to the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Kuwait, reflecting ongoing efforts by these countries to enhance their defense capabilities amid rising regional security concerns. This approval includes various military equipment such as missiles and precision-guidance systems.

The largest proposed deal is with the United Arab Emirates, valued at approximately $1.041 billion. This package includes up to 10,000 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System-II guidance sections configured for both air-to-air and air-to-ground operations, along with necessary equipment and support.

Egypt is set to potentially acquire a $832 million package that comprises Javelin missile systems. This includes up to 2,020 Javelin FGM-148F missiles, 20 fly-to-buy missiles, and up to 200 lightweight command launch units, enhancing its anti-tank capabilities.

Kuwait’s proposed deal is valued at $400 million and involves services for the repair and return of Patriot missiles, as well as related equipment and support.

These arms deals come as the United States continues to support its allies in the Gulf and Middle East, aiming to bolster their military strength in response to regional threats. The approval of these sales underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in maintaining stability and security in the region.
